The goal was a true successor to FlexStyle: smaller, lighter, and built around powered pins so accessories could be actively heated, not just air-driven. That meant redesigning the entire accessory lineup alongside the base handle. FlexFusion shares FlexStyle's tube form factor, which made differentiation the real fight. Most of the first year of development went here, not into any single component, but into finding a visual language that let the new product stand apart at a glance, even sitting next to the original on a shelf.

The hot brush was the first actively-heated attachment built for the system, adapted from learnings on SmoothStyle but streamlined specifically to work as a detachable, swappable head rather than a standalone tool. About a year into development, an active air straightener joined the lineup. Packaging heated plates into an attachment format, rather than a dedicated handle, was the single toughest engineering and usability problem on the project. FlexFusion launched October 1, 2024 with this straightener included in its higher-tier configuration, but it quickly became a real pain point for users.

Rather than let that stand, the team took user feedback straight into a redesigned straightener and new CMF direction, relaunching the system as Shark Glam on August 11, 2025. The revised straightener, now called Shark Silki, went on to become the foundation for a standalone product as well.
